5th edition of the "Vëlosummer": from Saturday 27 July untill Sunday 25 August 2024
The 5th edition of the "Vëlosummer" will take place from 27 July to 25 August 2024 in all regions of the country. The aim of the "Vëlosummer" initiative is, on the one hand, to (re)discover the most beautiful corners of Luxembourg and its idyllic landscapes by bike and, on the other hand, to promote cycling as a means of leisure and transport in everyday life. For this summer, 13 signposted cycle routes have been selected, passing through 67 municipalities, including two French municipalities, with a total length of over 500 kilometres. To give priority to cyclists, 82 kilometres of roads will be temporarily closed to traffic.
Practical information about the 13 tours, their detailed routes with different levels of difficulty as well as restaurants, hotels, cycle stations and other tourist attractions along the routes can be found on the website velosummer.lu and via the VisitLuxembourg app.
As part of the "Vëlosummer Challenge", people who cycle all 13 routes and check in at the various points indicated in the VisitLuxembourg app will win a yellow jersey.
The organisers of the "Vëlosummer" are the Ministry of the Economy and the Ministry of Mobility and Public Works, in close collaboration with the participating municipalities, the regional tourist offices (ORTs) and the National Roads Administration (Administration des ponts et chaussées).
