Impact of people in motion on space Moving m2 - Square meters in motion
How much space does a person take up if they're on the move and how can we improve mobility using "space-print"?
The video below illustrates this.

Deriving value from data is central to the evolution of smart cities...
15 m2 average city space per person in motion
... transferring these values into bigger-picture information is the key to generate relevant insights for citizens and city authorities.
A data measuring system was set up in Luxembourg city to collect traffic data from bus & tram passengers, car users, cyclists and pedestrians.
The outcome was analysed and structured by a team of experts while designers developed a real-time visualisation to compare space efficiency in the city between people in motion.
The real-time visualisation was installed at one of the main streets in the city to make commuters feel part of a mixed mobility ecosystem.
The Luxembourgish based design consultancy is developing other projects to increase the quality of life of citizens in other cities.
