Speed limits at peak times

The speed limit of 90 km/h was reactivated from 09/2020 during morning rush hours on the A6 and A1 motorways from the Belgian-Luxembourg border (Sterpenich) to the Kirchberg motorway junction.

The speed limit, which does not apply at weekends, on public holidays and during school holidays, was introduced in Luxembourg in 06/2019. An initial assessment showed that the traffic flow became more homogeneous and lane changes and abrupt braking manoeuvres decreased. As a result, traffic flowed more smoothly overall, journey times were shortened and the risk of accidents was reduced.
