Rail transport
The rail transport sector, both freight and passenger, is becoming increasingly regulated at European Union level, with the aim of creating a single European railway area while emphasising safety and interoperability.
Various national and European players are each playing an important role in the process of creating a single European railway area and developing the rail sector in general:
- Ministry of Mobility and Public Works (MMTP);
- National Safety Authority - Railway Administration (ACF);
- Regulator (in French) - "Institut Luxembourgeois de Régulation (ILR)";
- Administration of technical investigations (AET);
- European Commission;
- European Union Agency for Railways (ERA).
