Air transport

Luxembourg Airport, sometimes simply called Findel, is an airport located a few kilometres north-east of Luxembourg City in the Findel district of Sandweiler, hence its name. It is accessible via the A1 motorway and is served by lines 6 and 16 of the Luxembourg city buses (AVL) as well as by tram line 1 of the Luxtram network.

It is the country's only international airport. It is the base for the national airline Luxair and the international freight company Cargolux.

In terms of passenger flights, the various airlines based at the airport serve numerous destinations from Luxembourg. The lux-Airport flight schedule enables you to check the timetable for departure and arrival flights to and from Luxembourg airport.

As far as freight transport is concerned, Findel airport is ranked as one of Europe's leading cargo airports. (see statistics in the annual report of the lux-Airport S.A. airport company).

The airport has just one runway, oriented 06/24, 4,000 x 60 metres long.

In addition to the international airport, the Noertrange and Useldange aerodromes are two aerodromes for recreational aviation located in the municipalities of Winseler in the north and Useldange in the west of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.
