Lake Haute-Sûre

The lake dates back to 1961 and is located 1 km west of Esch-sur-Sûre, in the centre of the Haute-Sûre Nature Park.

The 380-hectare lake has several functions:

• drinking water supply;
• electricity generation thanks to the dam and hydroelectric power station;
• a leisure and water sports area.

Water sports (swimming, canoeing, diving, windsurfing, etc.) must be practised in the protected area, 5 km from the main dam.
