Collective transport

The air transport of passengers is regulated in such a way as to protect the passenger rights, in particular in the event of cancellation or delay of flight, but also in terms of pricing. People with reduced mobility are subject to specific treatment.

Denied boarding, cancellation or delay of flight

Requests in relation to the rights of air passengers should be addressed to the airline company and, only in the event that no agreement could be found between the passenger and the company, the Ministry for Consumer Protection may be referred. This body was appointed by Luxembourg for the application of this Community regulation.

Air travel for people with disabilities and people with reduced mobility (PRM)

With regard to the rights of people with disabilities and people with reduced mobility when they travel by air, the Directorate ofCivil Aviation has developed, in collaboration with the parties concerned in Luxembourg, a practical guide that is freely accessible and downloadable from its website.

Price transparency

Passenger fares and freight rates offered to the public must mention the conditions applicable when they are offered or published in any form whatsoever, including on the internet, for air services departing from an airport located in the territory of a Member State.

The "Verkéiersverbond" is the competent authority to ensure the application of these provisions with regard to air transport. The final price payable must be specified at all times and include the applicable rate as well as all applicable taxes, fees, surcharges and duties which are unavoidable and foreseeable at the date of publication.

Company identity

According to European regulations, passengers must be informed in advance of the airline operating their flight.

In addition, airlines deemed dangerous are subject to an operating ban or restriction within the European Union and are included on a Community blacklist.
