Following the launch of the Modu 2.0 multimodal strategy in May 2018 and the successful introduction of free public transport in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg in March 2020, François Bausch, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister for Mobility and Public Works, presented the PNM 2035 - National mobility plan at an international press conference on Friday 22 April 2022.

The innovative PNM 2035 - National mobility plan proposes an overall concept capable of managing 40% more journeys than in 2017. It implements the approaches recommended by the sustainable mobility strategy Modu 2.0, namely:

• moving from a logic of catching up to a logic of anticipating future demand for mobility;
• first determining the number of people who will need to travel to a given location, and then reinforcing the modes of transport best suited to the context;
• and finally, mobilising the four players involved in mobility, i.e. the State, local authorities, employers and citizens.

François Bausch, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Mobility and Public Works, also presented the PNM 2035 to the public in 10 public presentations. The public meetings were presented in Luxembourgish with simultaneous translation into French and English (simultaneous interpretation provided by Collectif Interpretes.lu).
