In order to ensure a reliable service and a competitive speed compared to cars, buses have to travel away from private traffic on almost the entire trunk route and be systematically prioritised at junctions.

Such a trunk route is known as a high-performance corridor (CHNS) for buses.

The high level of service applies not only to transit travellers, but also to those who use the stops along the trunk route. These stops are characterised by both a high frequency and a large number of destinations.

The bus models that run on a CHNS are selected, as everywhere in the network, according to the number of passengers to be transported on the various lines.
