Free of charge

Since 1st March 2020, public transport, whether trams, trains or buses, is free everywhere in Luxembourg. This measure applies to residents, cross-border workers and tourists.

Since 1st March 2020, only the prices for 1st class train journeys are due.

International tickets can be purchased at the counter in one of the train stations or online on the CFL website.

Accessibility

The National Society of Luxembourg Railways (Société Nationale des Chemins de Fer Luxembourgeois) (CFL), in collaboration with the various authorities, strive to make public transport accessible to all people, especially to people with reduced mobility. The stations and stops of the Luxembourg rail network as well as the rolling stock, trains and buses, have been extensively changed and modernized.

Persons requiring assistance should give advance notice of their intention to travel by train:

  • 1 hour in advance for Luxembourg train stations;
  • 48 hours in advance for assistance in a foreign train station.
